The Chapman Museum presents Conversations with the Past Tintypes with Craig Murphy
From the Chapman website:
Alternative processes photographer Craig Murphy creates one-of-a-kind photos using the 19th century Civil War era Wet Plate Collodion process to create tintypes and the Silver Gelatin Dry Plate process to make glass negatives for contact printing. Craig will be presenting a basic timeline of photography history, discussing, and showing some of the equipment used, and then demonstrating the historical collodion tintype technique. You will be able to see the magical transformation from raw materials to a tangible photographic plate.
